There's this guy who fancies me but he's not my type and I've told him so. However we are still friends. He keeps asking me to hang out with him ... I think that's Ok or should I make excuses not to?

If you have told him outright that it can only be friendship then it’s up to you if you want to do that
Can you do things in a group rather than just two for a while?
Don’t give him any mixed signals and you need to be firm but kind that’s it’s not going to happen
After that there’s no reason you can’t have a good friendship.
He’ll fall for someone else and move on romance wise but you could be left with a really good friend for life
It’s up to you to decide if it’s worth it

If I were to bet money, then he still fancies you and is still interested in dating eventually. See how it goes and if you arent interested then drop him.

Ask him if it's okay to bring a friend with you, then see how he reacts to that. I would make it so that you don't give him the wrong impression when hanging out with him.

I forgot to mention when I was in a relationship, we did hand out just together, so there is precedence I suppose?

Crush him. It's the kinder thing to do in the medium to long term.
