    Hi,
So basically I never got my NI number and my train starts on Friday but I don’t have my NI number yet. Will I still be able to work? Also does anyone know the pay rate for London,Harrow?

Not sure of the pay rate, but it is my understanding that you always need your NI number before being able to start work, because they need that to know how much tax you should be paying (or not)

Yes but they'd not need it straightaway so arrange to get NI ASAP, like now as you waste time on TSR

But if I’m 16 I shouldn’t be paying tax right?

You shouldn't be, but they need it to prove that to HMRC

You won't be paying income tax but that is not because you are sixteen; it is because you don't earn much. There is no age limit for income tax - a rich baby with a private income would pay tax. You need to get a NI number urgently.

I definitely worked in the UK for 3 years without a NI#. When I DID finally get the number because of getting a new job, there were no problems. They knew exactly what I owed (which was nothing). TBF I think it was my previous employer who was at fault for not pursuing it, despite me not making enough to pay into NI.
