I'm someone who thought I knew a lot about Wall Street - everything from IBD to PE to AM to ER etc. etc. and so I was surprised when I was recently enlightened by an ICAP intern about the world of IDB. And from what I've heard, it's awesome! Mon to Fri 7am-5pm of swearing on the phone and matching trades, and then there's still time to have a life/hit the strip club. For all this, you're getting compensated six figures (on a good desk). Am I missing something?

There was a banker who was worked to death - it's much harder than what you're making it seem like.

yeah I had an AC at ICAP last year, it's extremely interesting but many people feel there is not much of a future for IDB in the near future - the market for it is decreasing and I think ICAP are merging with another IDB to increase their market share
