Why do people think I'm going to fail/make assumptions when they hardly know me? Watch

So I'm involved in a local football team.

They have always seen me as shy, quiet, the odd one out and taken the mickey behind my back in the past.

Two of the guys have failed in their careers (got their degree's almost 6 years ago) and took them over 3 years to find their first job and not doing nothing now.

I've told the football team yesterday I've got a few contacts and a business partner and I'm going into self employment doing IT stuff.

One of the guys (who's doing nothing) in the background told his friend "he will not succeed" and other people started smirking looking at the other guys and wanted to burst out laughing and another guy said "you have no chance".

Why do they make assumptions when they hardly know me? Do they have some crystal ball so they can look into the future?

Why do they make arrogant assumptions?

Some people in life are just tosspots, who gather in circles and say these kinds of things about people who are less social than them.

It's up to you to prove them wrong. But sometimes life is easier if you avoid conflict.

It makes them feel better about themselves to put other people down. I don't understand it.

It will be funny when you do succeed.
