Would a degree in biochemistry from the University of St. Andrews be a possible way of entry into investment banking? Is St. Andrews considered a "target" university or not?

Many thanks for any advice you can provide.

Yes. There are no specific requirements other than to go to a "preferred" university, in order to not have your application end up in the shredder immediately, to work in IBanking.

Some specific roles (such as in risk) may require a "numerate" degree, which Biochemistry probably won't qualify for unless you can demonstrate you've done university level mathematics in the course of the degree - particularly mathematical statistics (which is not the same as any statistics course) and probability I would imagine.
