    Q) In the shuttling ball experiment, explain why the ball shuttles faster if the plates are brought closer together.

I understand the experiment but don't know quite how to word the answer. Electric field strength increases when plates brought closer together so greater force acting on charged ball between plates causing it to move faster?

That's effectively it, although the faster motion is more of a side effect of larger acceleration. It would be a good idea to justify both the larger acceleration and larger electric field strength with reference to the appropriate equations, including a note of what has remained constant as well as what has changed.

    Thank you!😄
