The first draft of my reflective essay for my folio is due in tomorrow, but I'm struggling to finish it off. I've already done almost 600 words but, in all honesty, I'm not very happy with what I've done so far.

To very briefly summarise, I'm writing about books, how my taste in different genres has changed over the years, and how it somehow relates to me growing up and moving on. I have a pretty rough idea of what I want my essay to look like but I really don't know how to get this all down into words.

Any advice? It doesn't even need to be specific to my situation – some tips on how to properly structure/write an essay of this kind and keep ideas linked would be useful too. I've never been good at reflective pieces.
