I am interested in applying for a school direct (salaried place) I am attending an open day next month but wanted to check if anyone who has already applied or currently on the course knows what the entry requirements are re degree subject? I intend to apply for primary. Does it need to be a subject that is taught? Thanks in advance.

To teach primary, you can have a degree in any national curriculum subject. It is only in secondary teaching where the actual content of your degree matters as secondary teaching is more subject specialised than primary.

If you want to do a school direct salaried route then I believe there is a additional entry requirement of having three years work experience.

Most institutions accept any degree but some prefer or require National Curriculum subjects - just be careful to check the admissions requirements when you apply.
