So confused by all these relationship "rules" Watch

I met a guy about 2 months ago. To be brutally honest I fancy him to death. Beyond that, we really connect mentally and literally can't stop talking (our dates last on average 10 hours at a time because we simply can't stop talking). We've not had sex yet, but the sort of tone of things is very sexual. We just really, really fancy each other.

I've held off having sex simply because of all these "rules" out there and all the comments from my female friends saying, "don't have sex with him because he's not said you're his girlfriend yet, you're not official."

He seems to want to just continue seeing each other and see what happens. It's clear he wants us to have sex at some point, but he's not being really pushy. We've slept in the same bed a couple of nights without having sex (but making out). He hasn't put pressure on me.

Should I just chill out and see where it goes? I really, really like him. I'm seeing him this weekend and really want to have sex with him then....but we're just not "official".....

Just see where it goes and don't worry about it

He just has to make it official then. He has to really be sure you are the one he wants

Sometimes the way things goes when making it official is that you don't explicitly say it, but you look at the signs are realise, oh **** we're a thing. If you still feel the need to explicitly say it then ask him if you're exclusive and see what he says. To be honest he waited 2 months without sex. I feel like that clearly shows what his intentions are and that he wants to be with you. So there's only 1 thing left to do and that's to ask him .

He invited me to this work event he was going to the other day but I'd left it open and hadn't confirmed whether I'd show up or not. When I showed up he was engrossed in conversation with colleagues and it took him a minute or two to see me. When he saw I was there the way his eyes lit up was soooooo sweet. And he suddenly became all shy and couldn't stop smiling and looking at me. Moments like that do suggest to me that he's kind of looking for more than a quick shag.

Labels and "being official" don't matter, if both of you think the time is right, go for it

If YOU want it to be official, YOU should go about finding out if he wants the same thing. Why wait for him to make the first move?

I agree with the poster above though; labels shmabels. If you are both old enough, mature enough, etc. etc. then does it matter?
