I’m due to turn 18 in a few days and wanted to know what other forms of ID I could use as my provisional hasn’t arrived yet and I lost my passport. Would a birth certificate and a bus pass card with my name (matching my birth certificate name) and a photograph of me be acceptable?

It's unlikely that they would accept that (assuming that you want the ID for going out clubbing). Most places say they'll accept anything with the pass logo on, but the only real safe options are driving licence and passport.

For almost anything it needs to be an official form of photo ID. There needs to be a photo on the ID itself and it needs to be a recognised form of ID.
What do you need it for?
