How should I go about this?!

I havent signed anything nor privided docs to begin DBS checks but I have verbally agreed to the job.

Can I legally just withdraw at this stage? And would I do this via email or is that a cop out?

How can they force you to take the job? Just tell them that you've changed your mind.

Polite written confirmation you are withdrawing from the employment offer with a brief explanation as to why.
