I never watch TV shows live or through BBC Iplayer in my room, the only time I do is on the TV in the communal area which has apparently got it's own TV license so I don't need one right?

Apparently they'll still do an investigation even if I say I don't need one but I'm not really sure how they're going to check considering I don't have anything like a TV in my room, only a Desktop and laptop computer.

Then you don't need a licence

If your house has a tv license associated to it then you shouldn’t need your own
