    So I'm currently in the process of applying for a maintenance loan and I don't know whether to just have the funds put in my main bank account; there's usually around £2000 sitting in there (just putting that out there as the more in my account, the more interest, right?

    Or should I setup a separate student account, and if so, any recommendations?

    I would say just keep it all in one account. I dont think theres any advantage that I know of to do otherwise. May as well keep it simple.
