It took me a while to realise that was short for business studies....I was confused then, thinking that you studies buses in detail or something!

I've just started AS and I'd say my 6th form is pretty small compared to some others; 107 in Year 12 and about 103 in Year 13, so about 210 in total. My biggest class is English lit with 21 of us, then history with 14, then sociology with 7 (but there are 2 classes because of timetable clashes, so altogether there's about 14 or 15) and the smallest is French with 6. Make that 5- someone just dropped out lol. Apprently there were 30 students doing AS English lit last year, and there are now 6 of them at A2! Talk about high drop out rate! It's right at the beginning of term though and some people will probably drop out, if not this year then for A2.

there was 32 in the english class though - my subjects were just unpopular with the people who stayed on.

Smallest class was latin with 1 person in it

Given that this: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/bsp/h...l/343_4102.stm is my old school with an average A level achievement of 186 points (DDD in other words) I'd say probably not....

Yeh, i thought we were going to have small classes but theyre huge.

Design is around 27.
ICT again is quite big around 20 odd.
Then Psychology, dear god, that was a hassel, very popular choice. The two classes are huge now but before we had it sorted we all had to be split into half in my class and half the lessons.
English had 50 people wanting to take it, and only one class...how stupid. They introduced another course lit/lang so i took that instead, now about 11 people in the class.
Core is just my pastoral group which again is quite big.

This would be my school....http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/bsp/h...l/840_4681.stm

In my Upper VI classes there were:

Chemistry: 11
Biology: 7
Physics: 9
Pure Maths: 5

These are smaller than Lower VI because of dropouts. Only exception is Physics because the two groups merged.

Only 5 for AS music - 2 for A2

But about 14 for Chemistry and similarly for other subjects between 10 -15 generally i think

How many people in your classes at sixth form/college?

I ask this because my sixth form was supposed to have "small" class sizes, and the previous Head always made sure that they were no more than 18 people or something like that.

But my class sizes have been pretty big..
24 people in maths (which is shocking for MATHS! Apparently last year there were only like 10 people in one class)
Chemistry- 18 (Last year only 9 according to our teacher)
And Biology and History both have around 25.
Music - only two of us!
English lit - seven
Psychology - nine

Class sizes were bigger last year though, apart from in music (only three of us!)
