    I got one 9, 6 A*s and 5 As. Is this good enough to consider applying? At A level I am predicted A* , A* , A* / A, A

Is there an unofficial, prerequisite number ? I was slightly disappointed to have missed out on a few more A*s, but are my gcse grades competitive or even sufficient ? I want to apply either for English Lit or Education with English and Drama.

    Thanks,

    Claire

Oxfords average ranges from 7-8A* while Cambridge 5-6A*. But it depends on the subject massively e.g. E&M at Oxford will be double-figure A*'s as an average. Your GCSE's will be around average for both, so you'll have a chance.
