For ages I've been struggling to decide between psychology or mental health nursing. I'm aware that psychology is more academic, and mental health nursing is more practical. I love the idea of being able to help people with mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, dementia ect.

I've also been told it may be a good idea to apply to some Psychology courses as well as some mental health nursing courses. The only problem being my personal statement. I'm not sure how to start it or what to include since I'm applying to 2 different courses. Any advice?

Nursing is incredibly competitive it's very risky to apply with a statement not dedicated completely to it, why not get some work experience to make your decision?

You could also do a MH nursing post grad course if you're undecided. You need to have a 100% nursing statement to stand a chance at nursing and that would significantly disadvantage you in your psychology choices
