I am currently studying business, law and sociology. My predicted grades are D*D*B. I received a grade B at maths GCSE. Would I be able to study accounting and finance at a university like UCLAN or Man Met or I would I simply not be able to keep up with the math.

What did you get the A level B in?

Personally, sorry I don’t think you could. Although, you never know you can achieve higher than those predictions. Good luck!

Thanks I think I'll have a look at international business or something like that. I was told D* was equivalent to A at a level but I guess not.

Wait, my D* do you mean distinction*? Because you didn’t make that clear. If so then you can.

    D*=A*

You could get into somewhere a lot better than Manchester Met with D*D*B

If you work hard I'm sure you could keep up, I didn't do Maths A level and went on to do a degree in Computer Science at a top 30 from my IT BTEC and I passed all the maths modules on my degree and am now studying for my MSc at a top 10 uni.

If you can get in without Maths A level just work hard when you get there

Leeds who are ranked 1st in the UK for Accounting and Finance accept DD in BTEC Business (Equiv to AA) + A in another A level so if you can get one grade higher in sociology you could go there!

That's great to hear, I'm going to work hard and hopefully achieve that A. Also good look with your Msc.
