    Hi.

I am a second year student midwife. I recently have been having feelings of wanting to leave as I am worried about when I qualify needing to be responsible and the stress of the job. Plus people have said that having children and seeing their families is more difficult as a midwife. When I first started I was really passionate about the subject, but now I feel less passionate and a job at pets a home seems more appealing.

I want to know if anybody else has had these feelings.

Also if anyone has regretted leaving or whether leaving was the hard but they're happy they left.

I feel I may regret it at first, but once I have children, I won't be so bothered anymore..

Only you know how you're feeling. Lost of jobs and life in general is stressful. To go places career wise sacrifices have to be made in any profession so it's about whether you want that or just a job that will pay bills and allow you to have a family life. If you're not enjoying the work and no longer feel the same passion for it there is no point in carrying on and no shame in that. Make sure you have a plan though and aren't just going to leave and then drift along.
