I'm six weeks into my A-levels but I want to switch one of my options from Philosophy to Politics. My other subjects are History and English Lit. But is politics considered a good A-Level? I'm planning on doing either History or Law at Uni, so is English Lit, History and Politics a good combination?

Yes as Law doesn’t require any certain subjects. Slight bonus if it’s an essay-based subject which Philosophy and GovPol both are.

So as Politics is an essay writing subject it would be a suitable option for A-level if I want to study law at Uni.

Not really. History and English lit are 100X more valued.
But the combination of English Lit, History and Politics is good? Just double checking as I want to finalize my decision by the end of half term.
