    You can change tutor literally because you don't feel they are going to help you work to your best. Neither your old or new tutor finds out why you changed so don't worry about making a fuss.
    You tutor sounds like they're being funny and honestly they write your references so if you think he's not gonna be a great change!

    Yeah - I think they are being funny - I just can't put my finger on HOW. I know something doesn't feel right but I think I'll just stick with them for now and see what grade they give my work - if it's bad for no real reason, I might change then.

    I'm not sure why it was awkward that he invited you into his office, and he apologised for multitasking whilst talking to you. He may be acting weird in response to how you're acting around him - discomfort breeds discomfort
