    Due to some mental health issues, I am currently considering my choices of going to uni and was told to look into the open university... I plan to go into adult nursing...any experiences, advice or things I should know? TIA x

    You must already be working as a HCA for the NHS in order to apply to the OU. There are however 2 modules in the nurse training program at OU that you can complete prior to registering in the program.

    Once you have a HCA job you can express interest to your manager, before this program used to be funded by the NHS so there was limited enrolment but now it is self funded.

    Wow thanks for your reply! I have been a HCA for 3 years, however not in the NHS .. if my employer is happy to support would this still be applicable? Thanks again
