    Figure 2 shows a drawing of a bacterial cell. Use the scale to determine the length of the bacterial cell in micrometers. Picture of question is in the thread

    Use a ruler to find how much cm/mm is the 2micrmometer scale. Then measure the whole thing and finally convert the units.

    Thank you but what way is the length, how tall it is or how wide it is??

    If you look closely, you may need glasses to do this, it says the word 'length' along the top of the diagram, indicating that length is the distance along the horizontal.

    Width. You should get somewhere between 8-9 micrometres

    By convention, length is always the longest side.
