Do your research beforehand on places to go, otherwise you may accidentally end up somewhere that’s super expensive. As London is tourism heavy I might suggest maybe visiting a tourist attraction like a museum or a palace. Take aways or less expensive restaurants aren’t hard to find as long as you do a google search.

It depends on what your idea of a first date should involve. Without telling us something about you or your date, it's difficult to pick out something that you both like.

Going for drinks on a first date is standard practice, there's plenty of bars that you can visit in London. Find one that has a happy hour so you don't splash too much since cocktails can add up pretty quickly.

I wouldn't go somewhere too expensive, you wouldn't want to invest that much money so early.

Food markets are always fun, like Borough Market or Camden or Notting Hill. For something outdoorsy, paddle boating in Hyde Park? There's an amazing crepes stand near Hampstead Heath - you could get crepes and go for a walk.
