Should one get completely trollied or stay sober so one doesn't have a headache and/or feel sick for the big day ?

I think I'm going to end the night in tears either way

But I shall have to actually see my friends the night before as well.

I'm spending it with my family. If you are going to drink then try not to get too drunk because the last thing that you are going to want is to turn up in halls with a hangover.

But I shan't miss my family I shall only miss my friends

Perhaps we should just stay in and drink orange juice or something.

I got absolutely trollied, got in a fight with my best mate and went to uni with a black eye

Don't get too drunk, you'll be grouchy and want to go to bed early, when you should be up socialising all night

Don't arrive at uni with a sore head from the night before. They say that first impressions last and this will be the first time that you meet hundreds (possibly thousands) of new people.

You should want to look your best, hence the fact that I am eating virtually nothing all week and going to the gym every night!

Though I can imagine other reasons for that

Yes that's the problem with first impressions. You can make only one.

But I'm definitely not just sitting at home on my final night. God I don't know how I'm going to be with saying goodbyes I don't care that boys aren't supposed to cry I'll be in floods :P

Go out and get slaughtered a few nights before for one last time. The actual night before you go, have a relatively quiet night.

Be careful. Will your plan actually work to a great extent?

My folks are having a massive party the night before I go to uni as it's my mum's birthday...I'm planning to stay sober though!

Hmm what to wear on my first day? Hmmm... actually I need to buy a new wardrobe. I shall take some wine and chocolates and Uno cards and impress them with my Freeview box I think.

Count yourself lucky, I'm taking an overnight train journey and will be mainly sleeping during the day before that! Will be completely spent the first day I get there with no help from alcohol

Yeah, though I don't talk to my family as much. Will spend last day with friends before I depart, think I'll crack

Will see them again of course but, probably never like it was before, these roads in life are strange.

Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and lifestyle... as the song says

I really honestly cannot imagine missing my family at all. They're perfectly nice to me and I feel awful for saying it but I really can't wait to leave them.
