I have a small idea of what I want to do with my life; either journalism or something mental health related. However I have no clue what is the best route to get into either of these careers, and university doesn’t really appeal to me that much (tuition fees etc). Any advice?

there are increasing numbers of mental health work apprenticeships available:

    https://hee.nhs.uk/hee-your-area/sou...-mental-health

    also in journalism ?

    https://www.gov.uk/guidance/journalism-apprenticeships

so it is not compulsory to go to uni for these career areas.
