So I'm in year 11 and the school is telling me to apply for a college however, I want to do this optical apprenticeship which I have to apply for near August if I want to get a place in September. So do I apply for a college for the sake of it and just leave it once I get my optical apprenticeship. Can I do that? Will I have to go to the college for a few weeks or something?

Ever thought about a trade school? Colleges nowadays are liberal hellholes but with a trade you can actually make good money instead of wasting your time on a useless college degree.
