Sorry for the delay in responding!

The interview for Speech and Language Therapy usually consists of a face to face structured interview and a short written assessment.

We are looking for applicants with the personal qualities and skills that a speech and language therapist needs for good practice such as:
    • Good interpersonal communication skills, both talking and listening
    • Empathy with and understanding of other people
    • An ability to reflect on themselves and their own knowledge and experience
    • Sufficient self-confidence to be able to receive feedback and reflect
    • Ability to function both autonomously and as part of a team

We also look for applicants to have a basic understanding of the nature of the work of a Speech and Language Therapist, so I would make sure you have researched the role of an SLT to show understanding.

The tutors will also look for good grammar and punctuation within the written assessment. I would therefore try and leave some time and the end, to read through your assessment to check for any mistakes.

I hope this helps! Good luck with your interview :goodluck:
If you have any questions just let me know.
