i received my first payment from my new job at tesco last week- i was paid for the first week of working there but was told the previous week, when i had the 2 induction days (13hrs in total) that we would be paid for the induction days since we were now officially working for tesco, which only seems fair.
However, i was not paid for this time, when i noticed it on my bank statement. I don't have a payslip yet cause they start of by giving paper ones which i need to see my manager about (i will do this next time i'm working). But if i was going to be paid for the induction days i would have thought it would be shown on my statement?
should i follow this one up? from reading about tesco inductions online i have noticed not all of them are paid but it was 6.5 hours each day for 2 days so i would be loosing out a lot here (£97.50 to be exact)

Yes, ask your manager whether there's been a mistake.

Hi did you receive no payment at all for the induction days? If the manager said you should be, and you haven't received anything, you should query it to them. They will be the best person who can help.

no i didn't. i'm gonna seek out some other staff who were on the same induction as me and double check we were supposed to be paid, but yeah i'll talk to my manager about it. the only thing is that our induction wasn't led by a manager- it was just the same person who interviewed us so i'm not sure my manager will know anything about it. communication between staff doesn't seem to be that good at my store
