The way I was raised has really affected me greatly, am from east African, am 21 when I was a kid my parents used to lock us in,and it was strictly no friends,no going out or even watching TV, my life as a kid was just based on books no fun, it was like that for a very long time, then the TV issues stopped they started allowing us to watch few programs but the going out or bring friends over was still a no, now am in a university and I don't even know how to make friends or even go out am already used to sitting indoor, I don't wanna keep living my life like this, I don't know what I can achieve sitting down at home, I need advice on how to make a change

Start small, make a point of stepping outside and going somewhere, even if it's just to the library or a shop every day. It will get you used to it and break your mental habits. Then join a society, something to encourage you to socialise, and start small, even just saying hello to other members. It will come in time, and socialization is hard for lots of people, so don't worry about it.
