A report released by the Care Quality Commission has found that some young people in the UK are having to wait up to 18 months to receive mental health support, and that almost 40% of specialist child/adolescent MH services are requiring improvement.

Read more on the story here.

What do you think about this news? Are you surprised?

Have you/your friends sought mental health support? What was your experience?

Doesn't surprise me. MH care in the UK is absolutely dire for CAMHS and adult/older adult MH services.

Not surprised. I asked for CBT three times and was talked out of each time due to long waiting lists and one doctor told me their CBT counsellor wasn't actually trained in CBT!

Not surprised by this report whatsoever. It's not just the NHS, we are woefully bad at talking about and supporting our mental health. Both us and our GPs.

Mental health should be talked about just as much as physical health!
