Would having a criminal record affect my chances of getting into university? Do they conduct crb checks? Or do i have to inform them of my past convitions?

    It depends.

Its generally not going to matter unless your course involves working with children or vulnerable adults.. For such courses they will do a crb check.

    Teaching nursing, social work etc.

What sort of criminal record do you have? What offences, when did you commit them? how were you, current age and what was the sentence? If any of those convictions are unspent then you are under a duty to disclose them and are asked on your ucas form.

If they are spent but they do a crb check because of the course then they are likely to show. It depends.
