I am definitely doing Chemistry, Biology and Maths, however I also want to do Physics but have heard that a 'contrasting' subject is needed in which I would do History or Economics. Should I do all sciences or will I be at a slight disadvantage?

Biology, chemistry, maths will keep all medical schools open to you.

No disadvantage in not doing a contrasting subject. Most people do took a 4th usually had physics at my school

In my school if you were to do a 4th but still apply for medicine, u'd be doing 3 sciences and math. Some people like to do philosophy or economics for some reason. But, your choice, those a levels will keep all med schools opem.

I took the same. When I first chose my A levels, I thought maths was compulsory for Medicine. Now I wish that I took something else because I don’t really enjoy it tbh;,(.

If you enjoy all three sciences, then there’s nothing wrong with choosing physics. If you’re considering doing BMAT, then I guess it would also help you a bit if you took physics.
