    Thanks to everyone for joining in in what was a rather spontaneous quiz!

    Answers:

    1.Pumpkins are traditionally carved at Halloween.
    2. On Halloween, 'guisers' are those who dress up, disguise or wear costumes.
    3. Shakespeare's Macbeth features the three witches.
    4. Frankenstein's Monster was written by Mary Shelley (other variants accepted)
    5. Harry Houdini died on Halloween in 1926, full point awarded for both names, half point for just Houdini.
    6. Dr. Peter Venkman, Dr. Raymond Stantz, and Dr. Egon Spengler are the Ghostbusters.
    7. People associated black cats to witches in the middle ages, and were therefore suspicious of them.
    8. Samhain is the original name for Halloween
    9. Washington Irving is the author of Sleepy Hollows.
    10. The Scottish Witchcraft Act of 1735 forbade the consumption of Sausage Rolls.
