Solubility chemistry question?

How and why does the solubility change from Mg(OH)2 to Ba(OH)2 because i would have thought it would have increased due to a reduction in electronegativity from Mg to Ba, but apparently it increases. could someone please explain?
anyone

It's a long answer, but down a group the enthalpy of hydration is greater than the lattice enthalpy of a compound, so it becomes thermodynamically more favourable to form an aqueous solution. This is the short answer and I think a2 chemistry explains it a bit better.
