Hey! I'm sitting the charterhouse entrance exams too, with the same subjects as yours. What have you studied for physics? (I'm an overseas student so I didn't take the GCSEs)

Same I'm overseas too. For physics i've just covered the whole syllabus. I've been doing some past papers and just been reading my textbooks. Nothing in particular really....What date will you be sitting?

Hi! I got in and I'm going to Charterhouse this weekend for some meetings about the subject choices, which exams are you taking?

I didn't take either of them (I took english as a second language), I've found math test (the mandatory one) pretty easy instead I had some troubles with the non-verbal reasoning paper. Anyway, in general, I thought they would be more difficult.

No problem, I was really worried too... I took math and physics (they were not too difficult), the interview was a kind of conversation about my interests and such. I've been interviewed in a house (hodgsonites), practically they took me and other two girls in that house and then they interviewed us (one at a time). While waiting we just talked with the guys of the house. The interview was in the living room of the house master (he has a kind of apartment connected to the house), there was him and a teacher, they asked me about my free time, what I want to do in my future, they based the questions on the personal statement. I hope I've been helpful

Cheers this is really helpful haha. I was just wondering what your grades were like at the time because mine aren’t exactly stellar but yeah I got a mate who said that you’re like constantly interviewed or whatever. Were the questions specifically based on your subjects? Like was it a physics question haha

At that time my grades were better than now, I had A* in math, physics and literature and the others were all A except for philosophy and history (I had B). The questions in the interview were only about hobbies, what you could give to the school (sports, art, music...), I think that they want you to be interested in different things. I think that you just have to let them see that you want to take every opportunity from the school (even if you are not the best in every field).
Are you applying for IB or Pre U/A-levels?

I’m applying for Pre U for definitive. I’m either really good at something or really bad haha so it’s definitely the best fit. Can I ask if you’re English? Or like have gone to similar private schools? I’ve heard the culture shock is quite massive
