If i get a summer job

will my maintenance loan be reduced for my future years at university if i get a summer job over the holidays? for instance at the moment i am getting around 8000 but if i earn 500 over the holidays will that reduce my 8000 for the next year like does it count as household income?

Hi c4c4,

Like Claire says, it won't count.

As long as your employer is not paying you to attend your course we don't take a student's earnings from full or part time work into account. It also doesn't matter if it's a holiday job, during term time or both.
