And also, when is the latest you should apply for a spring week? I really would prefer if I applied for a spring next year as opposed to this year because I havent even written a cover letter yet but Im doing a placement year...

    Thoughts?

A placement is in year 3 of your course, a spring week is in first year of a three year course or second year of a placement four year course, though you can always say your placement year is optional (for most, it is) and just apply in both year 1 and 2.

No, you can't get a spring week in a placement year.

You can however do a summer internship in your placement year, however that would mean finding a short placement that ends before June and you booking a holiday when you get invites to their offices for interviews et al. Slight disadvantage in that many summer interns are spring week products.
