I am a fairly conservative Christian and do not believe in sex before marriage etc. I am planning on going to uni next year and wonder if people will find it weird as i know it is not normal anymore lol.

They might find it odd but that's on them not on you. What works for you only has to work for you, don't let it get to you.

No it's not weird at all. I'm not Christian or any other religion but I have the same outlook regarding intimacy since I "gave it away" to my first BF who swiftly dumped me. That was years ago now but I literally will not allow that to happen to me again which means I'm waiting for someone to be 100% serious with me and personally that involves a long term commitment.

So no, your views aren't weird at all and don't be surprised if you meet people who agree with them who aren't even religious.

I personally think a lot of people are too loose these days and that a lot of people don't put a high enough value on intimacy.

as Christians it is inevitable that our lives will be lived differently from others.

Well there are plenty of Christian groups you can join for social activities. Just don't expect to get trolleyed and wake up in a strange bedroom :dontknow:

I'm an atheist in a relationship with a guy who believes that. A little frustrating but not the end of the world. Also people don't have to know your decision. A lot of people go to uni without having had sex. If it ever comes up just say you haven't. In general people are nice.

I'm a Christian and I've just started uni this year. So far, people tend to be up to having conversations about faith and religion. My flat mates couldn't care less that I'm a virgin. As long as you respect where they're coming from, people should be fine with it. I would recommend joining the Christian Union at whichever uni you go and find a church. This will help support you in your faith journey

In Islam, we also have a similar ruling on relationships. We also don't believe in premarital sex or adultery.

Believe me, people care about your sex life less than you think. Your life isn't that interesting to others.
