    I am self-teaching myself Triple science, however am confused as to whether or not I physically have to conduct the required practicals, or if I can just learn the experiment processes and not conduct them out. I am doing the new 9-1 Spec

    From my understanding you have to physically do the practical. This is because if you were in a school the teacher would have had to sign a sheet saying that you have done the required practicals.
    There are about 36 I think.
    How come you are self teaching it?

    The practicals are required so you will be asked about some of them in the exam however you can get away without doing it and it wont cause any harm but it might be better for you if you experienced it for yourself.
    I dont know what examboard you are doing but for AQA it is 28. 8 for chem, 10 for bio and 10 for phys.
