    this is so oldskool lol
    I was more into the Goosebumps books than the TV series

    I remember being like 10 years old and borrowing them from the Library..

    I know there was some other scary type books I used to read, but I can't remember if it was are you afraid of the dark, maybe not from a quick google search

    I enjoyed reading the goosebump books and then actually seeing that book on the tv

    Goosebumps as I loved the books and the tv show (books were slightly better). Although AYAOTD had a better concept looking back at it now with the midnight society and a different member of the group telling a story per episode etc.

    and upon doing some research it was the Fear Street books [also by R L Stine] that I used to read as well. Fear Street had a different style of writing I feel and was aimed more towards 13 - 15 year olds, whereas goosebumps was aimed a bit younger
