Organic Chemistry Acid Hydrolysis question.

Can’t do. Plz help. Circled B by guess, don’t even know how to name the compound shown.

Cut the compound at the C-O bond. You should notice that there is an ester linkage there. Therefore, you must end up with terminal -OH and -COOH groups.

Oh yea A sorry I did not notice a methyl group. 😂
Pentan-1-ol-5-oic acid ( something along the lines of this ,I think)

But that depends if u want to hydrolyse it
