I have sprained my thumb from playing rugby today and I don’t think it’ll heal in time for my WJEC English and Numeracy exam next week, any idea on what I should do? I can’t contact the school it’s half term. I am also struggling to revise because of my injury. I honestly don’t know what to do.

Tell your parents or guardian. Wear a conspicuous brace when writing the exam so the examiners see you with your finger.

Oh for heavens sake - man up. You have a sprain - take a painkiller and stop trying to escape the inevitable.

I sprained my ankle a few months ago whilst out running ( leapt over a fence ) so I know how painful it is - but ibuprofen is the best thing to take.

You have a week and these exams are important.

I’m not trying to avoid it, I just wanted some tips on how to cope with the pain. I’ll take your advice and will get some ibuprofen.
