    I'd say the main tip is that a psychology degree isn't a counselling degree - it's academic not vocational. The pathway to clinical psychology is VERY long and competitive. Graduates are more likely to end up working in HR, market research or marketing than directly in psychology (and a LOT go on to teaching assistant jobs or trainee counselling roles after graduating before applying for vocational training for a professional teaching or counselling job).
