When this guy from NCS came to my school to tell us about it, I couldn't help silently crying. It sounds fun and would help bulk up my CV which is always a bonus, but I have no one to do it with. All the activities are those summer camp type team-effort activities that don't go well with introverted goth-y geeky people like me. Doing it alone is not an option!

I'm scared I'll pay £50 to go only to wind up the loser teammate everyone wishes would disappear. Like at school but I've wasted money becoming that person. I want to do it but I don't think I'm brave enough alone.

If you went to NCS alone, I'd love to hear what your story is and what it was like. Please give me some advice!

I also have a really cringy offer for anyone in the same boat as me. This is my Take A Mate code - CT-003159682

It basically means we'll be paired up when you sign up with this code. I know it's a little desperate but at least we can be awkward together. If you want to get to know me give me a message on here or look at my profile.

Here's to the anti-social social club!

Thank you so much for sharing your stories, advice or wanting to pair up (maybe)

    From, Jessie x

PS. I know this is a long shot!

I did NCS and I didn’t know anyone! It’s very daunting but you will find someone, just attach to yourself to someone straight away!! It’s an amazing experience for the price!!

I know, that's why I'd like to be brave enough to do it! It just sounds like such a team-effort sorta deal which is an instant put off to shy people like me.

I did my NCS with 2 friends from my school. However, you may or may not know other people in your group as it’s done by the area in which you live. In my group I recognised another 2 girls who were a year older than me but came to my secondary. And I made friends with a guy who turned out LIVES OPPOSITE ME and I hadn’t ever met him before.

I would’ve preferred to go alone as it would’ve been easier to make friends as the 2 friends I went with didn’t want to socialise and didn’t care about the activities. But I made other friends.

In all honestly out of all the groups mine was the worst because some of the people in my group were so judgemental and rude. All the other groups bonded so good eg. During adventure phase we went camping and the other groups would all stay together and we could hear them laugh and have fun whilst my group after circle time would just go back to our tents.
