    this was on chemguide, why is there a comma next to water and hydroxide, becasue they have different states?

    They are different species in the same phase.

    Isn’t water liquid and hydroxide aqueous?? That’s what the state signs say in the equation??

    You do realise that they are the same state right? Aqueous just means it's in water, so it's not just hydroxide liquid, it's hydroxide in water
