    Hi everyone,
I'm planning on studying Zoology next year at University and was considering applying to Sussex. Unfortunately I was unable to attend an open day so am unsure; Are there any Zoology students on here and if so could you tell me what you think of the course and lecturers? Is there anything you wish you had known? Also does the course offer a year in industry or year abroad studying?
    Thank you

I am not a current student but I have just applied to Sussex to study zoology in 2018 and I am so glad! Even though I couldn't make the open day either I went to visit the uni and it is such a lovely campus. I met with one of the lecturers who couldn't be more helpful, he talked me through the course, then showed me round the labs and talked to me about current student research projects which sounded so fascinating and Brighton is a lovely place to be next too. Placement year and study abroad are available as well as pathways and electives. They are a way of personalizing your degree, if you take a certain number of topics from a subject your degree becomes zoology with something. Hope this helps!

Thank you this was really helpful! It's also nice to here from someone else planning on studying zoology, I live in Worcester and know no one who is studying anything similar 😂

I am the same! Everyone I know is into Business or Drama and I am the only one at my school (I live in France) who has ever looked at zoology!

Oh that's cool! Is Sussex your first/only choice in the UK?
