Hi, so im debating whether i should carry on writing notes. Im currently in yr 13 doing bio, maths and chem. I've been making notes for bio and chem since yr12, but dont think the notes work as i just forget the notes i made the day after. I also never read over my notes, just leave them as they're always quite messy. I've been thinking about stopping making notes and just read textbooks and doing practise questions as i think I'll learn better. I've heard of note taking being active learning and reading the textbook is not effective but tbh making notes is the same as reading for me, just takes a longer time making notes. Anyone else have the same problem? And do you guys think taking notes is essential\?hanks!

There's no point making notes if you never read them, that's a given. The point is then to read them.
