    That's a bit harsh and really mean. You're asking a 12 year old to imagine that their parents have died, and then imagine telling them that she'd like a new dad. She was obviously upset and wanted to vent, if you didn't want to say anything helpful then why did u say anything at all.
    It's called value. Nowadays one doesn't value their parents. Only when one shows one reality one begins to realise their mistakes.

    Theres nothing harsh in that statement. Death is inevitable and we all will have to taste death one day. The thing is we love to complain about tiny things. Like it only hits home when they are not there anymore.
