I hardly ever post face pictures either. I feel too weird posting a selfie unless I'm with friends or my cat. I can't do it on my own.

Okay I've suffered with this disorder all my life and I've been to psychiatrists for it.

    Do you meet this criteria?:

Avoidance (seems like you do) of situations you think you may be judged in.
Safety behaviors in public (which would possibly be not showing your face, mine was literally covering my face).
Effects such has shaking, blushing, butterflies, general symptoms of nervousness.

That's basically what social anxiety is. It only becomes a disorder when it has a serious impact on your day to day life (being so anxious you can't sleep sounds pretty bad, I don't even think I got that bad). If YOU think it does (your call), go to your GP right away, do NOT let this fester. Now it's just a case of weighing everything up. Generally people with anxiety can't bear being in groups, group speaking, presentations etc.

I wouldn't say social anxiety as that is a phobia of social interaction I'd say that you were more camera shy and the fact you care too much could be you're overly self-conscious and a bit insecure.

This is social interaction. She/he is afraid of other people's perceptions about her image. Sounds like social anxiety to me, even if it's mild. However it doesn't sound mild, it's taking over her emotions day to day (not being able to sleep etc), and that's not good. That leads to a disorder down the line. I don't think this is normal at all.

Agreed. I don't have social anxiety, I just get nervous over how oily my face is.
