We all know what happened with slavery and all that stuff, so I have a question. If you are caribbean, do you still consider yourself a caribbean and why? I'm not Caribbean, I am purely African, I'm of Nigerian, Zimbabwean and Tanzanian descent so I don't really have a say. Have fun!!!

Personally, not at all. I'm more than aware of the history behind slavery, and the African diaspora and what not. However, as a West Indian, I pride myself in being it, and would honestly never identify as African. Especially considering that as a West Indian, I wouldn't know what part of (West) Africa my ancestors came from. Identifying as 'African' is arguably indeterminate, and if I ever did identify as such, what African country would I say I'm from?
